Product Description
VETMEDIN® (pimobendan) is the only FDA-approved inodilator¹ that helps extend the life expectancy and improves quality of life in dogs with congestive heart failure (CHF).²,³ Given every 12 hours, VETMEDIN’s dual action dilates the blood vessels carrying blood to and from the heart—reducing the load on the heart—while simultaneously improving contraction of the heart muscle. Pimobendan, VETMEDIN’s active ingredient, decreases stress on the heart muscle while increasing cardiac output, without raising oxygen or energy consumption. Dogs with CHF have weakened circulatory systems; pimobendan helps them engage in the daily activities they enjoy. The older dogs get, the more susceptible they are to heart disease and heart failure.4 With early diagnosis and treatment of clinical signs, you can significantly prolong and improve your dog’s quality of life.²,³ Be sure to talk to your veterinarian about VETMEDIN for dogs to determine the proper regimen for your pet.
What is Vetmedin Chewable Tablets?
Vetmedin is a prescribed chewable tablet used to manage heart disease in dogs caused by atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy.

Why use Vetmedin Chewable Tablets?
Recommended for dogs diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Helps extend the life expectancy and improve the quality of life in dogs with heart failure. Available as a twice-daily, beef-flavored, chewable tablet in 4 convenient dosing sizes (1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg). Talk to your veterinarian before using on your dog.
How does Vetmedin Chewable Tablets work?
Vetmedin works through two complementary modes of action; it opens up the blood vessels taking blood to and away from the heart, which lowers the pressure on the heart and reduces the work it has to do to pump blood around your dog's body. At the same time, Vetmedin has a direct effect on the heart muscle, helping it beat stronger and pump blood more efficiently.
