Selegiline is used to treat canine cognitive dysfunction and a type of Cushing's disease caused by a pituitary tumor. DO NOT use with antidepressants. Sold as individual 5 mg tablets.
What is Selegiline 5 mg Tablet?
Selegiline HCL 5 mg, 60 Tablets (generic Anipryl) is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor used to treat Cushing's disease in dogs. It is also given to dogs for the treatment of cognitive dysfunction. When treating cognitive dysfunction, Selegiline should accompany a behavior modification plan.

What are the side effects of Selegiline 5 mg Tablet?
There is a 5% incidence of unacceptable side effects. These include: vomiting, diarrhea, appetite loss, itchy skin, tremors, drooling, listlessness, disorientation, diminished hearing, or restlessness.
What special precautions are there?
Anipryl is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this drug.

How can I store Selegiline 5 mg Tablet?
Store this medicine at room temperature in a dry, cool place. Keep this medicine away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in damp places, in the bathroom, or near the kitchen sink. This medication can break down when exposed to moisture or heat.
Helpful Tips:
If your pet has received too much Selegiline, their pupils may be slow to respond to changes in light and your pet may pant excessively. If this occurs, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Please Follow the directions and dosage prescribed by your veterinarian.
The starting dose for canine cognitive dysfunction is 0.2mg-0.45mg per pound of pets body weight. It may take up to one month or more to see improvement.
The usual starting dose to treat Cushings disease is 0.45mg per pound of pets body weight given once a day in the morning. If no result within two months, may increase to 0.9mg per pound of pets body weight. If still no response after one month of the increased dose, your pet should be reevaluated.
