What are the side effects of Atropine Ophthalmic Ointment USP, 1%?
Possible Side Effects. If atropine gets into the mouth, the animal will often salivate.
If your pet experiences an allergic reaction to the medication, signs may include facial
swelling, hives, scratching, sudden onset of diarrhea, vomiting, shock, seizures, pale
gums, cold limbs, or coma. If you observe any of these signs, contact your
veterinarian immediately.
What special precautions are there?
-Try not to blink and do not rub the eye.
-Do not rinse the tube.
-If more than one type of eye medicine is used, wait at least 5 minutes before using the other eye medication.
-Do not use if ointment has changed color.
